Welcome to your Meet the Experts 2: Crisis Communication Management
A comprehensive crisis communications plan that acknowledges all stakeholders enables hospitality firms to reduce the negative impacts of crises on hotel performance. In this respect, effective crisis leadership can not only rescue an organization from chaos but simultaneously allow for opportunities to emerge from the challenges. While unavoidable, leaders can act to reduce the potential for it, reduce its duration and soften the negative impact of the crisis by addressing the human elements.
During this intensive course, in groups, you will be faced with a real crisis that you need to assess and evaluate. The deliverable at the end of the week is a comprehensible crisis communication plan. With the support of guest speakers and a solid foundation of crisis communication theory, you will develop ideas and best practices that allow you to manage the distinct phases of crisis communication both on campus and, subsequently, in the workplace.
Best regards,

Digital and social media marketing is probably one of the most dynamic subjects in hotel management. As you are reading this message, there are probably some new technologies or platforms being introduced to the market. But the purpose of this course is not to introduce new gadgets or platforms.
Our objective is to discuss theories and frameworks governing online marketing which possess both academic and practical rigor. The case studies, industry interviews, and assignments would demonstrate how the theories and frameworks can be applied in the business environment. It is my wish that upon completion of this course, you will be able to take what you have developed here and incorporate it to complement your current online marketing initiatives.
Your professors, Dr. Elisa Chan and Dr. Valentina Clergue.
